So for the past couple of weeks mom has been on a Kenafe binge. Kenafe is this middle eastern pastry made of shredded filo dough, filled with a sweet cheese filling with rose water flavoring, drenched in a simple syrup.
As a child she grew up eating it, and so the last time we went to the Arabic store she ordered a piece which took her back to those days. I was just happy she'd found so I googled it and have been making a tray a day ever since.
Yesterday was the first bad day in almost a month mom spent the
majority of the day throwing up and was feeling anxious.
